Recently, I started working on my Bandcamp page. Later this Spring I will publish my Bandcamp page and release my first digital album. When I do, I will share the news and a web link. So far, the hardest part of putting my bandcamp page together was deciding on an album cover image. The image I finally settled on is a silhouette of me that I captured a couple years ago when I first decided I wanted to put together an album. Bandcamp makes it extremely easy for an artist to set up their own page and share their music with the world. Listen to me, I sound like a commercial for bandcamp. I am just very pleased that a service like this exists for artists who want to get the word out about their music.
The second hardest part of creating my bandcamp page is actually more about creating the album. I have been creating songs for years. Choosing which songs to include on the album wasn't easy. I'm never satisfied with my music and feel that most of my songs are diamonds in the rough which are not ready for the spotlight. However, there are a few that I knew were ready and others that I just needed to work on a bit. I could work on my music forever and I most likely will never feel like the songs are good enough. It's a very slow process since music is really just my hobby. Family and the day job take priority in my life. I choose to prioritize things this way because I love my family and I know I am not a musical genius or star. I am just a regular dude who loves creating music. I finally just decided to pick 8 of my songs ready-or-not.
